HAVILLA UNIVERSITY BOOSTS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND NUTRITION THROUGH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

Havilla University’s Nursing Science Department, Corps members, and Dean of Student Affairs, Mrs. Ita Essien, came together to celebrate World Egg Day and World Mental Health Day with students from Government Secondary School (GOVISCO), Ikom. This year’s World Egg Day theme, “The Mighty Egg: Packed with Natural Nutrition,” highlighted the nutritional significance of eggs, emphasizing their role in supporting overall health and well-being.
The event focused on educating students about the crucial link between mental health and nutrition. 400-level Nursing Science students, Uche Victoria and Rindi, led informative sessions highlighting the nutritional benefits of eggs and the importance of mental well-being.
Uche Victoria shared insights on the high protein content and essential nutrients in eggs, advocating for their role in a balanced diet. Rindi discussed the significance of mental health, encouraging students to prioritize emotional wellness and seek help when necessary.

The event’s highlight was when attendees enjoyed eggs, generously provided by Havilla University, while singing a popular egg-themed song, adding joy and camaraderie to the occasion.
