...As Founder, Hon Jones relinquishes direct management. Havilla University, Ikom, Cross River State now has a new management team, with effect from August 1, 2023. The management team is called JongSam Excellent House Ltd, with Dr Sam as the lead consultant, and Dr Adeniyi John as the Director of operations The management team will provide the needed drive that would take the University to quickly move into knowledge-based productive academic enterprise. This will boost student -intake and facilities upgrade, attracting mutually beneficial partnerships. Havilla University was unveiled to the public in November 2021. Today, it runs four Faculties and more than 16 programmes, including Health Sciences, Management & Social Sciences, Computing and Sciences. According to the Chancellor and Founder, Hon. Evangelist Jones A.O. Tangban, the coming of the management consultants will engender a win-win situation for everyone, propelling the varsity to realize its vision "to be a leading University recognized nationally and internationally for promoting innovations in teaching, research and public service through its academic programmes". Hon. Tangban while commending the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof Samuel Tita Wara and the staff, charged them to work in synergy with the management consultants; stressing that his intention of the new arrangement is to breathe in fresh vista to the University, which is the first private institution in the entire Central and Northern Senatorial districts. The Chancellor and Founder informed that the management consultants will utilize their long expertise acquired from running universities both in Nigeria and outside the country, to get HUNI on the global academic space. On his part, the lead consultant Dr Sam solicited the support and loyalty of the staff to get the University to an enviable height in a short time. He promised the staff that they will be very friendly and fair in running the University to the betterment of everyone. Also, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Wara assured the cooperation of the staff under his watch with the management consultants.
