Welcome to the Human Resources Management of the Department of Business Management Havilla Univeristy, Nde-Ikom Cross River State Nigeria. This programme has been developed to produce highly creative and innovative graduates that are mentally resourceful, intellectually equipped, entrepreneurially (enterprisingly) self-dependent, visionary and responsibility-sensitive to business changes. The Department has adopted a broad strategy of human resource development that encompasses education, technological, cultural, social, political and spiritual development such that our graduates will be sufficiently equipped to make valuable contributions to national development towards the attainment of the Vision 20:20 of Nigeria.

The philosophy of the programme is rooted in Havilla University’s philosophy of “Raising a new generation of leaders”. Thus, the Human Resource Management programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge to build a career in the ‘people’ function in organisations, workplace relations, organisational change and public policy which incorporates the study of human resource management, industrial psychology, industrial relations, labour law and international human resources from a global perspective.
In order to actualize the aims and objectives of the programme, the specific objectives of the programme are to:
Candidates can be admitted into any of the degree Management sciences programmes by one of the following ways:
Students intending to graduate in Human Resource Managment must satisfy the general University entrance requirement and should normally pass:
Candidates for direct entry while fulfilling the conditions in (i) and (ii) above must have in addition passes with a satisfactory grade at “A” level in Economics and English may be considered for 200 level admission.
The mode of study shall be full time. The B.sc Degree course will take four year of study for UTME entrants while the duration of study for Direct entry candidates will be three years.

Aims and Objectives
i. give the students broad and balanced foundation in Human Resources Management;
ii. empower students with necessary skills to create value and bring solutions needed to tackle challenges in the Business and allied Industries;
iii. make our graduates foremost Human Resources Management practitioners in the country and internationally through a well-designed competency- based training programme of teaching and research;
iv. facilitate acquisition of practical work experience in the Industries;
v. inculcate in students the knowledge, discipline and skills needed for self-employment; and
vi. prepare the students for research and possible postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management.

(i) Minimum of five Ordinary level (SSCE or NECO) credit passes in English Language, Economics, Mathematics or Further Mathematics, and any other two subjects at NOT more than two (2) sittings
(ii) Minimum UTME/Post-UTME score for admission into the Department which shall be determined by the University admission committee
