Blessing Tangban, the first daughter of the Founder and Chancellor of Havilla University, Nde-Ikom (HUNI), Hon. Jones Ayuk Ojong Tangban, has bagged her Doctorate degree in Public Policy Administration.
In a letter of Congratulations from the University Management to Dr Tangban, the institution expressed joy that she achieved the feat at this auspicious time.
The letter signed by Prof Samuel Wara, the Vice Chancellor of Hvilla University, said in part: “On behalf on the staff and students of Havilla University, I congratulate you on the award of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). We thank God for the grace and wisdom He granted you while the study lasted; and it is our prayers that He will keep you and your entire family in good health to enjoy the fruits of this top academic achievement”.
Dr Blessing Tangban, who is based in, New Orleans, LA, U.S.A, is better known as a singer-songwriter. She is described as an Afrofolk singer, songwriter and guitarist from Nigeria. Her sound is a blend of raw, pure, introspective and emotionally stirring Afro-folk melodies fused with lyrics that are witty and very vulnerable. She makes music that is infused with culture, heart and soul.
While in high school, she sang with a girl group called ‘Glorious Voices’. At the age of 15 she moved to the USA to begin her tertiary education at Southern University at New Orleans where she also began her professional career in music. She holds a first-class Associate degree in Substance Abuse Counselling, a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Criminology.
Dr Blessing is also a member of the Governing Board of Havilla University.
