Chukwu Appointed Acting Registrar at Havilla University


Christian Chima Chukwu, an Associate Professor of Sociology has been appointed the Acting Registrar of Havilla University, Nde, Ikom (HUNI), Cross River State. Associate Prof. Chukwu, who holds a Doctorate in Development Sociology takes over from Dr. Helen Uzezi Wara who was the Acting Registrar of the University. Dr Chukwu until his appointment by the new Management Consultants of Havilla University led by Dr Samuel Ojong, and Dr Adeniyi John (Director of Operations), was Associate Prof. at Novena University, Ogume, Delta State. Chukwu, 52, who hails from Bende, Abia State, has been involved in university teaching, research and managerial work since 1998 till 2021. He has to his credit 38 academic articles in Peer-Reviewed journals, five published books, 11 articles in conferences proceedings, as well as three book chapters. He has also supervised five Master's thesis, among many other academic feats. With a second Master's degree obtained from Novena University, Chukwu is a member of several professional and learned societies, including the International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR), African and Nigerian chapters. He is also a member of the Nigerian Sociological and Anthropological Association (NSAA), among several other professional societies. Dr Chukwu, who is married to Mrs Florence Nneka, enjoys reading, research, community development service and meeting people.
